Robbery Arrest

On Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at approximately 12:03 a.m., the Wall Township Police Department responded to the Exxon Gas Station located at 2276 Hwy. #34 for a report of an armed robbery.  The on scene investigation revealed that the accused, later identified as Jeffrey Wiepert, 56 years old, Wall, NJ entered the Exxon and displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the gas attendant.

Wiepert was identified as a suspect during the on scene investigation and at approximately 3:30 a.m. he was observed driving his 2002 Acura MDX in Wall Township.  A felony motor vehicle stop was attempted, but, Wiepert fled the scene of the stop in his vehicle and subsequently crashed into a gas meter attached to a residence located in Shore Mobile Acres, 1919 Atlantic Avenue in Wall Township.  Wiepert then fled the scene of the crash on foot but was apprehended and taken into custody by Wall Township Police Officers.  As a result of the crash, the gas meter was compromised and  New Jersey Natural Gas responded and repaired it.  South Wall Fire Department and Wall Building Department responded to the scene as well. Residents of Shore Mobile Acres were temporarily evacuated until the scene was deemed safe.  His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded.  The handgun used was later recovered by the Wall Township Police Department during the investigation.

Wiepert was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Manasquan First Aid with a non-life-threatening injury. Presently, he is at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in stable condition.

During the arrest of Wiepert, Ptl. Gallagher reported that he sustained a non-life threatening injury.

Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Honora Kilgallen set total bail at $530,000.00 no 10%.

Weipert was charged with the following offenses:

Robbery / 1st Degree Offense

Unlawful Possession of a Weapon / 2nd Degree Offense

Eluding an Officer / 2nd Degree Offense

Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose / 2nd Degree Offense

Aggravated Assault on an Officer / 2nd Degree Offense

Certain Persons not to Possess Weapons / 2nd Degree Offense

Resisting Arrest / 3rd Degree Offense

Terroristic Threats / 3rd Degree Offense

Creating Wide Spread Alarm / 4th Degree Offense

Obstruction the Administration of Justice / 4th Degree Offense

Aggravated Assault / 4th Degree Offense

Theft / Disorderly Persons Offense

Disorderly Conduct / Disorderly Persons Offense

Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance / Disorderly Persons Offense
