Ptl. Daugherty Thanked by Family of Injured Dog

On Thursday, July 23, 2020 at approximately 9:15 p.m., Patrolman Mark Daugherty  responded to the intersection of Belmar Boulevard and Edgemere Road for a report of a dog that was struck by a vehicle.  Upon his arrival, Patrolman Daugherty rendered first aid to the injured dog, later identified as “Major”, a three year old Husky that escaped from its nearby residence.    Major was then transported to Garden State Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls for treatment.  A week later, the family of Major contacted the Wall Township Police Department to thank Patrolman Daugherty and let him know that Major made a full recovery.
