Earle Naval Weapons Station Conducting Demolition Operations

On Friday, January 19, 2018 at approximately   11:37 a.m., the Wall Township Police Department responded to the area near 18th Avenue and Allenwood Road for a report of multiple consecutive loud explosions.  No signs of smoke or fire were observed by responding officers.  Additionally, no residents reported losing any power.  According to Naval Weapons Station Earle’s facebook post, an ordnance disposal team was conducting demolition operations between 10:00 a.m. to noon today and due to the overcast weather, the noise may have been louder and traveled further.  The reports of loud explosions that the Wall Township Police Department responded to today are believed to be related to these demolition operations.
