Wall Township Awards

 

On Wednesday, August 23, 2017, the Wall Township Police Department had its annual awards ceremony honoring Wall Township Police Department personnel that have “gone above and beyond” during the course of their duties. The awards were given out at the Wall Township Committee meeting.  Chief Brown thanked the officers for their demonstrated bravery, commitment and professionalism.  Chief Brown also expressed his gratitude to the Wall Township Committee and the residents for their unwavering continuing support of the Wall Township Police Department.

 

Below are the four incidents in which awards and/or commendations were issued.

 

  1. On January 30, 2016 Ptl. Ty Hughes and Ptl. Kevin Wagner conducted a motor vehicle stop and during the on scene investigation, the driver was discovered to have a firearm on his person. The offender fled on foot with a firearm, following a brief foot pursuit, the offender was safely taken into custody without injury to officer or offender.

  1. On January 7, 2016 Sergeant James Cadigan was at the Home Depot in Brick, N.J. when he observed a child experiencing a seizure. The parents of the child were frantic and Sgt. Cadigan immediately began administering first aid to the child.  Emergency Services Technicians arrived a short time thereafter and transported the child to a medical center.   1. Sergeant Steve Nash, Patrolman Andrew Baldino, Patrolman Jerry Baker,

Communications Officer Kymberly Griffin and Communications Officer Kelly Moore and Emergency Medical Technician Supervisor Jaclyn Lauber are commended for their life saving efforts on January 23, 2017.  They were dispatched for a report of a lost suicidal subject that was in dire need of immediate medical attention. The subject was quickly located and administered first aid due to the efforts of   the emergency responders and communication officers.   1. Members the Wall Township Police Department are commended for their actions on November 30, 2016.  Subsequent to an armed robbery investigation at Exxon, 2276 #34 the offender was quickly identified, and located by patrol officers near his           residence.  After attempting to conduct a felony motor vehicle stop on the offender, he fled in his vehicle.  He crashed after a brief vehicle pursuit then fled on foot.  He was   then subsequently safely taken into custody by these officers.
