Overturned Truck on Route 34/Allenwood Rd

On February 11, 2013 at approximately 1357 hours, the Wall Township Police Department responded to State Hwy 34 and Allenwood Road for a Motor Vehicle Crash, with an overturned vehicle.  The on-scene investigation revealed a one vehicle crash.  The Wall Township EMS and Glendola Fire Department also responded to assist.  No injuries were reported on scene.

The investigation further revealed that a 2005 MAC Truck was traveling south on State Hwy 34 and attempted to stop for the traffic control device at the intersection of Allenwood Rd.  The vehicle slid on the wet roadway into the center median, which caused the vehicle to overturn on its passenger’s side.  The vehicle leaked a small amount of fluid into the travel portion of State Hwy 34 southbound.  State Hwy 34 southbound was reduced to one lane for approximately two hours, while the roadway was cleared.

The Wall Township Office of Emergency Management responded to the scene to coordinate the clean up efforts.  The NJ State Department of Transportation also responded and assisted with traffic control and clean-up.  The vehicle was removed from the scene by Taylor’s Towing.

The Vehicle is Registered to:  Future Sanitation of Farmingdale, NJ.

Vehicle Operator:  John Tarter (46) Red Bank, NJ.
