CAREER INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in the Wall Township Police Department. We want to advise you that the first phase in the 2011 selection process for the position of probationary police officer will begin with the administration of the Chiefs of Police Association test at the Monmouth County Police Academy on June 8, 2010. Please refer to the link directing you to the Monmouth County Police Academy to register for and take these tests. Any questions concerning the Chiefs of Police examinations should be directed to the Monmouth County Police Academy, not the Wall Township Police Department. The Monmouth County Police Academy website is:

www.monmouthcountypoliceacademy.com.

Upon successfully passing both the written and physical examinations administered by the Chiefs of Police Association, a percentage of qualified applicants may be invited to take the Wall Township Police Department physical examination. In order to take this portion of the testing, you must file a pre-employment application and waiver form with the Wall Township Police Department.

To take our physical examination, you must have completed two years of college as a full time student with a minimum of sixty credit hours or an Associates Degree. If you do not have the above college requirements, you may substitute two years of active duty military service in any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States. Two years of Reserve or National Guard service does not meet this requirement unless you have at least twenty four months of active duty. Individuals not meeting either the educational or military requirement will not be considered for employment as a police officer with the Wall Township Police Department. You must also provide a doctor’s note, dated within the past six months, stating you are capable of taking part in rigorous physical activity.
